Winemaker’s Trilogy

At the beginning of 2020, Hester Creek President, Mark Sheridan, gave our Winemaker, Mark Hopley, an exciting project. With no boundaries being placed on production or resources, the project was to create an premium red wine from the best of the 2020, 2021 and 2022 vintages that would be distinctly different from our existing award-winning wines.

We named these wines, Winemaker’s Trilogy, and the individual wines are X (2020), Y (2021) and Z (2022). The coordinates, X-Y-Z, reference the latitude, longitude and elevation of our crush pad on the Golden Mile Bench where the winemaking process commences. This connection to our sense of place on the bench is what inspires Mark Hopley to create such outstanding wines that reflect the history of our unique terroir.
