Villa Management Support

Hester Creek Estate Winery is currently looking to fill a Villa Management support role for the 2020 season.  The Villa at Hester Creek is a six-suite luxury bed & breakfast located in Oliver, B.C., providing guests a personalized and elegant accommodation experience.   The position is a part-time role, Friday through Monday inclusive, and is in support of the Villa Management position.  Roles and responsibilities include guest services/management, reservations/office administration, food preparation and service, as well as some kitchen/laundry support. An ideal candidate should offer the following attributes; positive and professional attitude, strong communications skills, the ability to work within a team atmosphere and have a passion for exceptional guest experience.  Competitive wage offered.

Shipper/Receiver

Hester Creek Estate Winery, in Oliver, BC, is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Shipper/Receiver to join our great Cellar team. This is a full-time, permanent position, 7:30am-3:30pm hours.

The successful candidate will have the following skills:

  • Previous Shipping/Receiving experience
  • Safe and efficient forklift and pallet jack operation and certification
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Great communication skills and able to problem solve
  • Experience with MS Excel and Word
  • Ability to lift and move 50 lbs.
  • Winery harvest experience preferred, but not essential

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • coordinating trucking and shipments of finished wine and components
  • overseeing inventory at numerous off-site locations and conducting physical inventory counts
  • picking, packing and shipping wine to commercial warehouses and wine club members
  • Assisting with winemaking activities as required

Remuneration will be $19-$22/hr. based on experience.  Dental and medical benefits will be applicable after a 3-month probation period. Three weeks vacation a year.

Wine Shop Associates and Team Leaders


We are looking for motivated wine enthusiasts to join our great wine shop team! We are focused on exceptional, informative guest experiences and need the right people to maintain this vision. You must be passionate about service, wine, food and providing each and every one of our customers a “true wine experience”!

The successful candidates:

  • are well presented, approachable and project a positive, out-going personality
  • possess current “Serving-It-Right” certificate
  • have previous working experience in the wine/hospitality industry is an asset but not necessary
  • are able to meet the physical requirements including repetitive lifting of up to 30 lbs
  • can be capable to stand for extended periods of time
  • are flexible to work all days, evenings and weekends including holidays

Sous Chef

Terrafina Restaurant at Hester Creek Estate Winery is currently looking for a Sous Chef for our award-winning Tuscan inspired restaurant. Terrafina is an all-day kitchen and the successful candidate will need to have a wide range of culinary expertise as well as a passion for Italian cuisine and be willing to work evenings and weekends.

Offering fulltime year-round employment for the right candidate along with a great working environment and culinary inspiration. This position will report directly to the restaurant chef and will handle the daily operations of the kitchen and its team in the absence of the chef.

Qualifications:

  • Red seal certification (bonus but not required)
  • Food safe level 1 certification
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs. and up to 50 lbs., bending, moving intermittently
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Possess a passion for the culinary arts
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Ability to monitor physical inventory, including kitchen equipment, food items, and other supplies, and generating purchase orders as needed
  • Demonstrated understanding of proper food storage and product rotation procedures to ensure freshness and quality

Terrafina Restaurant at Hester Creek Estate Winery is currently looking for Line Cooks for our award-winning Tuscan inspired restaurant. The successful candidates must have a culinary background and be willing to work evenings and weekends. Line Cooks are responsible for executing all menu items while meeting presentation and timing standards, assisting others in the kitchen, and maintaining a clean, well-stocked and organized work area.

Dishwashers

Terrafina Restaurant at Hester Creek Estate Winery is currently looking for Dishwashers for our award-winning Tuscan inspired restaurant.

The successful candidates must be hard-working, enthusiastic and be willing to work evenings and weekends. As a Dishwasher, you play a very important role, ensuring the kitchen team has the tools to do their part and our guests have the dishes, glasses and silverware needed to enjoy their meals. Dishwashers wash and sanitize dishes and equipment, maintain the dishwashing machine throughout the shift and keep their area organized and tidy.
