Harvest Intern

Hester Creek Estate Winery, located on the Golden Mile Bench in Oliver, BC is looking for experienced interns to join our team for the upcoming 2021 harvest. We have two positions available, starting in mid August to end of November with processing starting in late August.

Ideal Candidate would have:

  • Diploma or degree in wine related field (preferred but not essential)
  • Minimum of 2 harvest experiences
  • Forklift Experience
  • Attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Ability to follow direction and work flexible hours in a fast-paced team environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work well with others.
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs, stand for long periods of time
  • Valid driver’s licence and clean driving record
  • Must be currently located in Canada with an eligible work visa.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Grape sampling
  • Crush pad operations-grape sorting and processing
  • General cellar duties, including racking, inoculations, additions, filtering
  • Winery sanitation of tanks and equipment
  • Assist with bottling operations
  • Following current Covid-19 safety protocols

Experienced Wine Shop Associate/Wine Club Ambassador

Hester Creek Estate Winery, in Oliver, British Columbia is seeking a motivated, experienced, wine enthusiast with a keen interest in wine, from soil to bottle. The successful candidate must have strong sales experience and be passionate about service, wine, food and providing each and every one of our customers a “true wine experience”.

The successful candidate:

  • is well presented, approachable and project a positive, out-going personality
  • possess current “Serving-It-Right” certificate
  • has previous working experience in the wine/hospitality industry
  • WSET education considered an asset
  • is able to meet the physical requirements including repetitive lifting of up to 25 lbs
  • is capable to stand for extended periods of time
  • provides experiences and shares wine knowledge at the tasting bar or our private Signature Tastings in the lounge
  • is flexible to work day shift, evenings and weekends, including holidays

Full-time seasonal position (April-November), with a competitive hourly wages and great sales incentives.

Hours: 35-40 per week

Expected start date: 2021-04-27

Chef de Partie

Terrafina is an all-day kitchen and looking to round out the 2021 culinary team with a Chef de Partie. The successful candidate will require a wide range of culinary expertise as well as a passion for Italian cuisine.

The Chef de Partie is a leadership role and will work directly with the sous chef and chef to ensure that the expectation is met by all the culinary team.  Your work will be an important factor to a successful kitchen. Competitive wage will be dependent on level of experience.

Dishwashers and Line Cooks

Terrafina is an all-day kitchen and looking to round out the 2021 culinary team with Line Cooks and Dishwashers. The successful candidates will require a wide range of culinary expertise as well as a passion for Italian cuisine. If you like working in a fast-paced energetic work setting and being a part of a strong team then Terrafina is the place for you!!! These positions will start part time with the potential of moving to full time through the season.

Line Cooks are responsible for executing all menu items while meeting presentation and timing standards, assisting others in the kitchen, and maintaining a clean, well-stocked and organized work area.

Dishwashers play a very important role, ensuring the kitchen team has the tools to do their part and our guests have the dishes, glasses and silverware needed to enjoy their meals.

This integral role will be seasonal full time and focused on operating the front door of the restaurant and assisting in managing the general flow of the traffic through the reservations system.
