Wine Shop Manager
Position: Wine Shop Manager
OLIVER, BC – Hester Creek Estate Winery is one of the oldest Estate Vineyards in the Okanagan Valley boasting the award-winning Tuscan inspired Terrafina Restaurant and The Villa at Hester Creek, a six-room bed and breakfast style full-service accommodation. It is also home to one of the most well-appointed wine shops in the Okanagan Valley including an 80-seat patio, 14-seat demonstration kitchen and multiple event spaces.
We are currently hiring for the position of Wine Shop Manager. This position will oversee all aspects of the operation and growth of our wine shop retail and hospitality experience in conjunction with the Director of Operations.
Key job roles will include but are not limited to:
- Developing and managing annual budgets.
- Overseeing all aspects of the wineshop functions to ensure budgetary targets are met.
- Development and management of staff training programs.
- Maintaining and developing successful wine tasting programs.
- Aiding in the growth and communication of our successful wine club.
- Managing inventory and allocations.
- Preparing staffing schedules.
- Working in conjunction with the Events Co-ordinator, Terrafina, The Villa and Bench Club teams on winery events
This is a salaried, full time, year-round position.
The successful candidate will possess the following:
- strong leadership capabilities focused on the management, coaching and growth of an industry-leading team.
- Formal wine education (WSET an asset).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
- 3-5 years experience in a retail environment supervising people.
- Ability to work in a physical environment.
