OLIVER, BC – Hester Creek Estate Winery is one of the oldest Estate Vineyards in the Okanagan Valley boasting the award-winning Tuscan inspired Terrafina Restaurant and The Villa at Hester Creek, a 6-room bed and breakfast style full-service accommodation. Hester Creek Estate Winery is also home of one of the most beautiful wine shops in the Okanagan Valley including an 80-seat patio, 14 seat demonstration kitchen and multiple event spaces. The Okanagan Valley is home to some of the best culinary ingredients in Canada and has become one of the most highly travelled food and wine regions in the world. Terrafina is an all-day kitchen and looking to compliment the 2024 culinary team with a chef de Partie and Line Cooks. The successful candidates will require a wide range of culinary expertise as well as a passion for Italian cuisine. If you like working in a fast-paced energetic work setting and being a part of a strong team then Terrafina is the place for you!!! These positions could start part time as well as the potential of full time through the season.

A Chef de Partie at Terrafina will need to be able to lead the kitchen in the absence of the Chef or Sous chef. Full operation of the entire line and supporting the preparation teams will be necessary. Red Seal certification an asset.

Production Cooks are responsible for executing all menu items while meeting presentation and timing standards, preparing food prior to service, assisting others in the kitchen, and maintaining a clean, well-stocked and organized work area.

We are seeking two dedicated Line Cook/Prep Cooks to join our team in a bustling restaurant setting. If you have a passion for food preparation and enjoy working in a fast-paced kitchen environment, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

– Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, and storing
– Assist in cooking and preparing menu items according to set recipes
– Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash, and organizing supplies
– Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure timely and accurate food production
– Always Adhere to food safety standards and regulations

Skills:

– Proven experience in meal preparation within the food industry
– Knowledge of food safety practices and procedures
– Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume kitchen environment
– Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members effectively
– Familiarity with various cooking techniques and kitchen equipment
– Flexibility to assist in different areas of the kitchen as needed
