Okanagan wineries are now open
Okanagan wineries are now open for business and BC wine lovers are flocking to the region. Here at Hester Creek Estate Winery, we have a lot coming to you over the next two months and we’re so excited to share our wines and experiences with you!
Wine Shop & Tasting Experiences
Our Wine Shop is now open from 10am to 6pm daily with complimentary tastings until 5:30. We also have elevated tasting experiences like our Signature Tastings and our Estate Tour & Tastings.
The Signature Tasting experience is a sit-down tasting that takes you through five wines in our beautiful Bench Club Lounge. The experience is by reservation only and available daily at 1:00, 2:30 and 4:00. To reserve your seats, book tickets by clicking here.
Our Estate Tour & Tastings will be taking place weekly Thursdays through Sundays with the first date to book in on May 18th. Join one of our Wine Ambassadors on a tour of the vineyard and cellar where you will see where the magic behind the wines happens. Finish the tour in the Bench Club Lounge where you will be guided through a flight of five wines with the Wine Shop Ambassador. This experience is by reservation only and available Thursdays through Sundays at 11:00. To reserve your seats, book tickets by clicking here.
The Wine Shop will also be hosting two blind tasting experiences in May. Seeing Red on May 20th and Blinded by the Blanc on May 27th. Put your eyes, nose and palate to the test as you join our Wine Shop Manager, Rachel, on an extremely fun adventure of tasting and analyzing wines. You’re sure to learn something new about what sommeliers do and have a blast doing it! To book into the Seeing Red tasting on May 20th, click here. For the Blinded by the Blanc experience on May 27th, click here. If you can’t make it to the winery until June, not to worry. We have two final blind tasting experiences before we take a break for the summer – Seeing Red on June 17th and Blinded by the Blanc on June 24th.
The Wine Shop has now officially opened the patio for the season with Happy Hour experiences Mondays through Fridays from 1:00 to 5:00. On Saturdays and Sundays, if you’re looking for a livlier experience, join us for one of our complimentary live music events. Every Saturday and Sunday from May 18th to Thanksgiving, Hester Creek will be hosting local Okanagan performers to come and play live from the Hester Creek patio. To see the full lineup of artists this season, head to the Events page of our website.
On June 15th, our Winemaker, Mark Hopley will be hosting a panel of winemakers, winery owners and vintners from across Canada. This is an absolute masterclass in learning about Canadian wine – its history, current state and future. The experience will take place over three and a half hours and include a tasting of 13 wines, canapés and charcuterie items. You will also get the chance to engage with the panel, ask your questions and have in-depth discussions about Canadian wine and how amazing it is! This event is by reservation, so don’t wait to get your tickets!
Terrafina
Terrafina at Hester Creek is celebrating mothers this Mothers’ Day and the whole week leading up to it with a specialized mimosa bar. Choose from the following options between May 5th and May 12th during your dining experience or opt to have a flight of all three. Reservations at Terrafina are always recommended no matter the season, but during the summer, the restaurant will fill up fast. To see the full menu and make your reservations from now until the end of October, click this link.
The Villa
The Villa at Hester Creek is almost entirely full for the summer season, but there are a few dates in between that you can book in. Check out The Villa page on our website to see everything we have to offer and make your reservations.
On a side note, we know that news channels have been talking about grape loss in the Okanagan Valley. While there is some loss, we’d like to remind our visitors that we still have lots of wine, events and dining experiences to enjoy in our beautiful region. The Okanagan is open for business and we’re all so excited to welcome you all back this 2024 season to enjoy the wine, good times and everything else that the Okanagan has to offer. Give us a follow on Facebook and Instagram to see what’s happening, and head to websites like Visit Oliver, Visit Penticton and Wines of BC to see the full list of events happening in the valley. Tag us in your photos, leave reviews for your favourite wineries and use the hashtag, #OkanagansGotIt on your posts. We’d love to see you all this summer and can’t wait to share some new wines and experiences with you all!
Cheers,
Kimberley
