Garland receives 92 points

Our 2020 Garland receives 92 points by renowned wine critic, Anthony Gismondi. This isn’t the first time that Gismondi has given this Golden Mile Bench classic a 90+ rating, last year he gave the 2019 vintage 91 points. And it’s the perfect time of year to receive such a high score on one of our top wines – especially with the name Garland, it just feels like it’s in the spirit of the holiday season. But – ¡fun fact Friday! – did you know that Garland doesn’t actually have anything to do with Christmas festivities? Garland is actually the last name of Hester Creek owner, Curt Garland. Either way, it’s the perfect wine to add to your wine list this holiday season as there is no better time to open a premium wine than when you’re with family and friends enjoying hearty meals while the snow falls outside. (Or rain… either way, it’s chilly out.)

So, as we head into the holiday season and as we wine’d up the 2023 season, we’d like to say thank you to all the incredible people who have supported Hester Creek over the past year! From our guests to wine journalists and reviewers, you’ve all been absolutely integral to our company’s motivation to continue making outstanding wines and creating memorable experiences.

This has been a year that brought together so many achievements for our team. Starting with British Columbia Winery of the Year to winning a plethora of other awards at international competitions. But most of all, we’d like to thank our guests for their absolutely phenomenal support in coming to the winery, enjoying our wines, sitting on our patio to revel in the joy of live music, taking in the views from The Villa at Hester Creek and dining at our restaurant, Terrafina.

And though this year is coming to a close, nil desperandum because we’ve got a ton of new events coming your way for 2024!
