Bed and Breakfast at Hester Creek
This post is for those who are feeling nostalgic for the days when BnB really meant Bed & Breakfast – yes, breakfast included. Rated as the #1 Bed & Breakfast in Oliver, BC on TripAdvisor, The Villa at Hester Creek is renowned for its warm hospitality from arrival to departure.
With her natural grace and splendid aptitude to being the perfect host, The Villa Manager, Melissa McLaughlin, is ready to welcome guests this season with open arms and a bottle of one of Hester Creek’s award-winning wines. Over the years, Melissa has not only maintained a high standard of hospitality, but has gone above and beyond to provide the most comfortable experience for our guests, including creating the gourmet breakfast, setting up lunch, dinner and Signature Tasting reservations and overall, making sure that our guests receive the five-star experience that they’ve come to expect at Hester Creek Estate Winery.
I’m going to take you on a little journey of what to expect with a stay in The Villa at Hester Creek.
Seasons at The Villa
If you’ve stayed at The Villa before, you know that the summer season books up fast! But summer isn’t the only gorgeous season to stay in the Okanagan.
Early and late winter – i.e., November, February and early March – give you the opportunity to get cozy in front of the fire with a glass of wine.
Towards the end of March and into April and May, warmer weather greets our guests and they have the opportunity to walk through the vineyards looking for signs of bud break as the vines come into bloom.
Summer is the most popular time for our guests to visit – the warmer mornings make sitting out on your own private patio ideal for the perfect summer-sunrise viewings over our historic estate vineyard.
The Experience
- Make your reservation. Reservations open on the first of every month at 8:00am, 11 months in advance, and can be made through our website.
- You will receive an email confirmation.
- A month before your stay, you will receive an email from our team at The Villa asking if you would like us to make you a reservation at our restaurant, Terrafina, or for a Signature Tasting in the Wine Shop during your stay. Please note, we cannot guarantee that there is space for a Signature Tasting, but if there is availability, we will make you a reservation for up to four people. This year, we’re partnering with Double O Bikes in Osoyoos for e-bike rentals during your stay. In this email, you will receive more information on the availability of bikes and be able to make your rental reservations for your stay.
- Three days before your stay, you will receive communication confirming your arrival and if you’d like to have anything special for your room.
- Arrival. You will receive a key to your suite where you will find a bottle of wine waiting inside.
- The experience. Each morning of your stay, our team at The Villa will create a gourmet breakfast to be served to your room. We also have a covered breezeway that provides an authentic European feel with its Tuscan-style design and sweeping vineyard views. This common area can be used by guests, and if you’d prefer to have your breakfast served here, you are welcome to request that as an option.
The Wine Shop
The Wine Shop is open year-round with complimentary tastings. Other elevated experiences like our Signature Tastings, Estate Tour & Tastings and Blind Tastings, will vary with the seasons, so it’s always best to check the website ahead of time to find out which experiences are available during your stay. From May Long Weekend to Thanksgiving Long Weekend, we will be hosting musicians every Saturday and Sunday for live music from 1pm to 4pm on the Wine Shop patio. This experience is complimentary, and we welcome you to come to the Wine Shop, enjoy a tasting, order a bottle of wine and some charcuterie options and sit out on our patio for the afternoon.
Terrafina
Meaning “fine earth,” Terrafina at Hester Creek provides a luxury dining experience from February through November. In the winter months, the interior design of the restaurant provides a cozy and intimate atmosphere. In the summer, the patio is full as guests dine under the pergola of vines. We keep things quaint with reservations available for smaller parties – maximum eight people per group – and the service team is top notch. On the culinary side of things, our kitchen is run by Chef Adair Scott and Sous Chef Roy Johnson, both of whom bring a world of knowledge, creativity and delectability to their dishes.
