Okanagan Wine in February
Okanagan wine in February? What?! I thought wine tasting was just a summer activity.
But after four years of living in wine country, it turns out the wine tasting in the Okanagan Valley is a year-round event to be experienced no matter what the weather is outside – even in the snow. And while Hester Creek Estate Winery is open all year, we still look forward to February because it means the release of new wines, and also means that our neighbouring wineries will start opening for the season as well. As a little aside, we like to call it “coopetition” a portmanteau of “cooperation” and “competition.”
With Family Day weekend on the horizon, we’re getting prepared to welcome back guests who haven’t been out wine tasting for a while. In that, we’ve made a big decision this year to start our spring hours a full month early by having the Wine Shop open from 10am to 5pm daily. These new hours also mean that we’re able to start our Signature Tastings twice daily. Being that The Villa at Hester Creek opens on Valentine’s Day, and we always offer our guests at The Villa a complimentary Signature Tasting, this is exciting news because it means that our February guests will be welcome to book an elevated tasting experience with one of our Wine Ambassadors in our beautiful Bench Club Lounge.
At the time of writing this post, The Villa has one delux suite available for Valentine’s Day, with many more openings throughout February and March. So if you’re looking for that cozy, romantic winter getaway, then follow this link to reserve your room at The Villa.
On February 9th, our Wineshop Manager, Rachel, would like to invite you to the Season Kick-Off Party with live music by Aidan Mayes. Included in the ticket price is a glass of wine, small bites and live music.
Terrafina at Hester Creek will be celebrating Valentine’s Day with only a few seats remaining for their multi-course dinner by reservation. However, they will be officially opening for the season on February 16th with a brand new menu, and you can take a look at availability all the way through to the end of August for making your reservations.
